Automation part two

“Captain’s journal,ever sense the discovery of warp drive,humanity has reached further and further into space”
“Even before. Zefren cocren’s warp flight,we set up colonies on mars,saturn and jupiter. After the warp test we established colinies on alpha cinterie,vega,deniva and a few orthers!”
“We set up trade routes,we also set up patrol ships,most of our ships were freighters. Some belong to the earth cargo service,orhers European,asian,african or private freighter lines.”
“Unfortunately pirates have caught on. They have become targets of nusicans,orion and un afiliated pirates. Although the x 1000 is primarily involved in exploration,we are also responsible for defense of alied ships”
Bridge
“We are on course!”kelly w said. The door opened,sheveren entered. “So what is on the agenda today?” The andorian asked. “We are answering a distress call from one of our freighters.” Styles said.
“Great! We seam to jump from one crises to another. Is that how it is always going to go?”he asked.
“I have no idea! I have never done this before!” Styles said.”of course!”steveren said. “We get to test out the equipment you procured for us! ” the captain said.
Romulin vessel
” the x 1 0 0 0 0 is on its way!” A robotic officer said. The robot was gray and looked lifeless. “Acknowledged! Plot inter cept course!” The robot in charge said “in ter cept course laid in !”the robot said.
The romulin ship was on standby. “They acknowledge our signal!”trajaten said. “You seam sceptical lt!” Shumar asked. “They stil have not sent there verification code! It is standered procedure. This vesel is a e.c.s vessel. They usually adhere to protical to the letter especially this far out!”trajaten said.
“It is odd! “Styles said. “Are weapons ready?”shumar asked.”weapons standing by at your command sir!” Boyd said. ” stay sharp every one!” Styles said.
“I have the freighter on visual!” Tivora reported. “Lets see it!”styles ordered. On the screen displayed the image of a wracked freighter. There was plasma leaking and other evidence of damage.
“I canot find any attacking vessels!” Tivora said. “Gone already?”kelly w comented. “There warp drive is off line,weapons off line. “Tivora anounced. ” Life signs?”dr. Kelly asked. “I am not detecting any life signs!” Tuvora said.
“Have you not been in constent contact with someone over there? ” Chief perizau asked. “I thought i had!”trajaten said
“Come along side. Prepare to latch on to there cloest hatch!”styles ordered. “You got it sir!” Kelly w said. “Is this wise to latch on this soon?”steveren said. “Mayby not!”styles said. “Not the reasurence i was looking for!” The andorian said.
The vessel came along side the freighter. The vessel slowly took a poaistion paralel to the freighter. “We are in position ! Beginning docking procedurs! “Kelly w said.
The vessel latched on to the orther ship. The two vessels  murged. “Docking complete!”the pilot said.
” Ok! Dr. Kelly prepare a medical team! “He ordered. “You got it! “She said. ” Bryce you will command the ship in my absence! “He said.
“I seam to be micheal colins!” Bryce said. “Captain’s perogitive. Besides if this goes bad i nead someone to get me out if this mess!” Styles said.
“Are you anticipating trouble?”steveren asked. “I always anticipate trouble!”styles answered.
“Boyd,perizau with me! Hopefully we will all be back by supper time!” Styles said.
Robotic ship
“The hu man sh ip has docked with t h e de coy !” The robot said. “Ve r y good! T h e plan is co mancing as an ti ci pated. “The robotic leader said. 
Unbknowst to the crew,they were heading right into a trap.
The landing party headed down the coridor. The security team had thruster rifles there hand. They neared the airlock. The door opened. The door closed behind them. All of a suden they were fired upon by unknown snipers.
“Fall back!”styles ordered. The team tried to go back but the door was sealed. The freighter left the other ship. The freighter went to warp. The freighter droped its holow facade. It was a drone ship.

Romulous

“Senator kezelle, the preator wants to see you!” A security officer said.
The senator was just put in charge of research and development for the empire. The preator learned he had a digenitive desease that would not kill him but would render him ibmoble. The preator wanted to seak his legacy by expending the empire. This ment doing the imposible. Kezele was happy to be in the senate. He had sold jewery at a beach. One day he and the preator then a deputy pro consul and him got in a political debate. Next thing he knew he was opointed to the senate.
The preator had an office in the senate,it had become cerimonial.the preator had another office down the street.  It was convenient for the preator,not so much for every one else. That was probably how the preator wanted it.
“Excellentcy!”he said. “Sit down my friend! I understand you have lunched a fleet of drone ship manned by robots?”mirkek asked . “Indeed! Without life suport ! We can utilize more power !”kezele said. ” Good! The rumors are that earth has bought technology and weapons from the galideriens and Vulcan and andorians. They may try to negotiate trade agreements. Human influence is growing. It is a direct threat to our program. “Pretor said.
“We can win this war. It will require full scale mobilization. We will have to divert resources to war production. This meens rationing. My drone program will be a good start. This will be a long struggle. “Kenzele said.
“I want the x 1000 destroyed. I want humanity brought to its knees. I do not need to conquer earth just get them out of the way! Understand i like it. I always have but i liked your predasesor as well! Do not fail
me senator!” The preator said. “I won’t!”kezele said. “Good! See that you do not!”he declared.
X 1000
The ship fired a canon into space. It sliced open an asteroid. “Impressive isint it.the thruster canon.  This is a sate of the art unit. This ship is close to it!” Boyd said.
“And yet,i stil don’t have a chair!”styles said. “I don’t understand ! Weapons ?”tivora said. “We have to be prepaired. There are dangers out there!”boyd sugested. “I know. I just don’t understand all the ambience serounding them!”tivora said.
“You ok bryce?”styles asked . “Yes i am. Its just that i gues i figured we would be further along technologically. Most of our technology was borowed. Much is not original !” Shumar said.
” Look we are stil new to this. At first a lot of advances will be though trade and comerce. I know eller industries is working on new projects. So are uspha and government agentcies. In ten years you won’t recognize how far we have jumped. Consider where we were ten years ago?  ” Styles asked.
“Ok i see what you are saying? Your probably right! I gues i am restless!  “Bryce said. “Mankind”s time is coming? “Styles said. “I hope so. We have been though much. War,holocoast,aftermath. We need a break sometime!”he will. “We are starting something. We are setting the stage for a glorias new era!”he said. “I hope so. I am rooting for it. I am not so sure!” He said.
” Captain incoming mesege! It is a distress call from freighter mid atlantic. They say they are under attack !” Trajaten said. “Can we confirm that it is the midatlantic? “Styles said. ” I can’t confirm its identity !”trajaten said.” Frankly it smels like a trap! ” perizau said. “Indeed it does but i can’t ignore it! Kell lay in a course for the freighter’ maximum speed!” Styles ordered.
The ship went to warp. “Gues we get to test out the new technology !”!he said.

The storm part 7

Engineering
Perizau was looking over the engines. Every thing looked fine.he was convinced that something was wrong and was bound and determined to find it.so far he had not found any problems. This failed to aleviate his fears. Very little could at this point. 
The door opened, the andorian entered the engine room. He went over to the chief enginer. “I am not going to like what you are about to say am i?” The chief asked. “Probably not! “Steveren admited.
“Ok go on?” The chief instructed him. “We are going to use my ship to reinforce key areas of the ship. “Steverin said.
“Are you nuts? ” perizau asked. “You have a better idea?” The andorian asked. “We will have to build during a storm! We are asuming the e.v.a suits will continue to function ! “Perizau said. “Do you have a better idea? ” He asked.
“No! Let me gues the captain has already aproved your plan!”perizau asked. ” yes he has!” Steveren said. “Do you know how this crazy this is? “Perizau asked. “In crazy times the only answer is to get crazy! “Steveren said. “That is a great idea?” Perizau said.
“I hope you are planing on getting your hands dirty! “The chief asked. “Of course. I will never ask someone to do something i am not wiling to do myself ! I will go. Besides i want to make sure that they do it right!” The andorian said. “Of course!”perizau said.
The hanger bay life suport had been deactivated so they had to use e.v.a suits just to get into the bay.
They got right to work. They had a lot to do. It was not fun. It had to be done.
First they took the outor part of the ship. Then they aplied it to key parts of the ship.
They had to constently monitor there suits. They rotated the repair crews quite regularily. Styles incitested on being there the whole time. He was not afraid of hard work.
As they worked,it ocured to him,this was the beginning of something. A human adventure. The beginning of a new era. He watched humans,trajaten,Vulcan ,andorian working side by side ib commin cause. All had a steak in this. Was this the start of something . A comunity. Who knows.
  “You ok corner?”shumar asked. “Yea just doing some day dreaming! “He said. “I see ! You don’t think we are doomed! This is not the titanic or the kontiki or edmond fitzgerald 0r the andoria doria?” Shumar said. “I don’t think so. We are not finished yet!” Styles said.
The armor covered bridge and engineering. They then returned to the ship. The crew was kept in several areas of the ship.
Dr. Kelly worked on develponing a treatment for the radiation sickness. She hoped to be able to slow down the progresson of the sickness.
Bridge
“The storm is showing no signs of decreasing. We are looking at a few more days of this! Mayby a week!”tivora said. “Great! “Shumer said. “The shields do seam to be holding!”boyd said.
“The week was difficult. It was nurve wreaking. The fear seam to got worse. There seamed to be no relief. It seamed to be the new normal.” Styles said.
“We kept teling ourselves it will all be a distent memory when we are on the other side. There never seamed to be the orther side. It felt like time stoped and we were stuck in the storm. ”
  Styles had fallen asleep. He started to awake. “I must have dozed off! Please tell me i did not snore!” He said. “You did not!”tivora said. “Phew!” He said.
“The storm has stoped. ” Tivora said. “Is it over over?” Styles said.” It apears to be!”tivora said. “Kell mantain course!”he said.
“This no man’s land ,what the crew nicknamed ‘the desert” went on for another week. It was two weeks of nothing . Finally we found a unhabited planet. It could suport life. I ordered kelly to asume orbit of the planet. ”
“I wanted a full diegnostic of all systems. The ship would be refited. Steveren agreed to alow all of his ship to be used on the ship. The ship was getting a full make over!”
“You se really happy lately!” Perizau comnented. “I am always happy ! I am a verry bubily person . You on the orther hand no so much!” Marie said. “Your hapier then usual. I did not believe possible but i am sure of it!” He said.
“I have been wating for the right opotunuty to tell you. This seams like the right time! “She said. ” I asume your not leaving me for that andorian or worse some german guy? “He asked. “No or both counts. “She said. “Good!” He said.
“I’m pregnant !”she said. “What? Are you sure?”he asked. “Yes dr. Kelly confirmed it. “She said. “I thought you could not get pregnant ?”he asked. “So did i. Kell is going to monitor the pregnancy carefully but every thing is good so far! ” she said. He huged her. “Wow!” He said.
The senior staf assembled. The ship was under a veil. “You sure its ready?”styles asked. “Yes ira ready!”Steveren said. The veil was lifted. “Welcome to the new and aproved x 1000. “Perizau said. ” My friends we have come home?”he said. “We really need a name orther then x 1000!”steveren said. Everyone staired at him. “Its just a sugestion! Heash!”he said.
Bridge
“Stil no captain’s chair?” Styles asked . “Maybe in the next refit!”shumar said. “Very well! ”
The ship lifted off. The ship cleared orbit of the planet. “Now free to navigate!” Kelly w said. “Set course into the unknown . “Styles said. The ship went to warp.
The end.

The storm part six

The food crates began to fall off in space. Several of the crates were struck by the ions. Several exploded. The projectiles hit the ship. The ship felt the blast.
While the team in e.v.a suits struggled to close the berikade. The culvert was sealed.
Now they had a new problem. Another part of the ship was exposed. They were still were not safe. Unfortunately they were far from it.
The crew rushed to the area near the hydroponics bay. The crew did the same. They sealed the masive hatch.
In the infirmery kelly got more and more patcients with radiation sickness. She also treated injuries from the impacts to the ship. She had enlisted help from non medical staf. She was overwhelmed. The situation went from bad to worse to even worse.
Captain’s qurters
” The structure is fairly sound! The fact is this ship is not ready for what is out hear!”perizau said. “I believe we may need a full redesign. “Schumar said. “When the storm passes,we will evaluate our next moves. Right now lets focus on getting though all this. I am confident we will! Even though it does not seam it right now! “Corner styles said.
He knew his senior officers fears had not been eleviated. He tried never the less.
“Dr. Kell what about the medical front?” Corner asked.” A large number of crew are suffering from various degres of radiation poisong. I suspect it is from the Storm. “Dr. Kell reported.
“We have no treatment ?”shumar asked. “Not yet!” The doctor reported. ” We can help with that! “Steveren said. “We will stay on this!” Styles said.
The meating was dismissed. The senior staff got up. Corner was concerned with the morale of the crew. He was very concerned with the safty of the crew and the ship. He was not sure how to procede.
He feared that the ship might need to return to human space. The ship might have to undergo a masive refit. He feared humanity might turn inward. The exploration mission might be temporary scraped. He hoped that that would not happen.
A part of him was not that mankind was ready to venture into deep space. Mayby he had been arogent. He had no idea.
  “Captain! You can canibolize my ship. The aloy could reinforce key areas of the ship! It will be cramped but i believe we can protect the crew! “Steveren said.”in The middle of a storm?” He asked.
“I know. This storm is not going any where! I think this could be the answer !”he said. “You will be sacrificing your ablity to leave! Your fate will be tied to ours!”corner observed. “I already have. Your not going to give up. I am a part of thia crew. I might as well start acting like it.i am all in corner!” The andorian told him.
“Alright ! Get with perizau ! “Corner said. He noded. Corner got a good feeling. Maybe they would make it after all. He really hoped so.
He did not want this to be over. He dreamed of humanity venturing out into space. Maybe this was the beginning. He looked out into space though a porthole.
This was the beginning ! This was a rising sun not a setting. He was caucious but his optimism was starting to rise even though it was ever so slightly.
  The crew was concerned but agried to the plan. They were wiling to give it a try. They had to try something. They were hear. They started to do it. Would it work was anyone gues. Mayby they lived in mythological times. He hoped they did.

The storm part five

“As the storm continues,nurves have become fraid. Uncertainty grows. So far the ship has wrethered the storm very well but every one is wating for the orther shoe to drop. Everyone is certain it will!”
“Want i would not give for a cup of coffe right now!”styles said. “We could heat it up with a hand lazer!” Trajaten said. “That might not be a good idea!” Shumar said.
“Sir! The storm has increased in magnitude but decreased. I believe it will countinue to increase for a few more houers! I am not sure that thr shields can protect us foever. ” Tivora said.
“Do you have any idea how long this storm will last?” Bryce asked. “Acording to my calculations at least eight more houers commander!” She said.
“We may have to devert more power! ” tivora said. ” We cut all power there is cut!” Trajaten said.”no we have not!” She said. “We need ship wide intercraft and ship to ship !”trajaten said. “No one seams to be out! “Tivora said. “Who would venture out ib a storm in a ruber digny!” Kelly w said.
” Are you sure the shields won’t hold?” Styles said. “I am certain of it!” Tivora said. “Vulcan your never wrong ! This is why my species always treaded lighly with your people . For a non emotional people you people are prety arogent!”trajaten said.
“Woa! Time out! This is not helpful! ” Styles said. “We could transfer power from my ship!”steveren said. “We considered it but it could short circut the ship. Our computors probably are not conpatible! It would be like trying to interface an eller 235 to a comadore 64. “Perizou said.
“The comunicators are indipendent of the com system . There don’t seam to be any ships in the vicinity. If we need to we can comunicate by flare. It is non esential power right now! “Styles said.
“I guess i am out of a job for the time being! ” trajaten said. “Find us some other extra power! We have a long road ahead!” Styles said.
Tivora was working on power transfer when jasson came over.”you ok?”jason asked. “I am trying to protect the ship! I understand that these may seam like draconian cuts but i see no orther choice !”she said.
“Every one is nervous and on edge. As the otther storm passes,so will this one!” He said.
“I have never been to Vulcan . Earth is my home. I want to aer humanity suceed and join the universial community. I am not trying to step on anyone’s toes. “She said.
“Your an aset to this ship. When we come though on the other side,it will be because of you! Just sit tight. You will make it!”he said.
Med bay
“Dr!”ensign gina elso said. Two crewman brought in a crewman. He had some kind of radiation burns. She began treating him.
Bridge
“Crewman ridgly was working on a conduet near the engine room. “Dr. Kelly renelds said.
“We have confirmed we have a smal leak!” Perizau said. ” Have you sealed it?” Shumar said. “For now but i fear while the shields have held,some how tge infrastructure of the ship has been compromised! We may see more of these!” Perizau said.
” i am not totally sure it is related to the storm. It could be a design flaw!” Kelly w said. “I considered that as well! ” perizau said. ” I want those areas that area screaned for radiation posioning! “Styles said.
Qurters of the captain
“You think mayby we are not ready. It is too soon?” Styles asked. “Frankly this is how you learn. School of hard knocks. The early exploers in the 15 and 1600s paved the way for meritime traval and opened up a new world.  When john f kenedy said we are going to put a man on the moon in ten years,it seamed like a pipe dream.  Someone has to take the first step. To every great story there has to be a beginning !” Shumar said.
“I really would rather not be the guy who failed. I don’t want to be a footnote in history !”styles said. “We will make it. This storm is not going to lick us!” Shumar said. “I hope your right bryce. I really do! ” he said.
Bridge
  The ship was rocked. “That was an unusually stronger ion! The storm is continuing to intensify. It has gone beyond my prediction !” Tivora said. “You are falible!”trajaten said. “Qiet!” Styles ordered.
The ship was hit. An airlock was hit. “Seal off the deck! ” styles ordered. “I can’t. It is not responding!” Tivora said. ” We will have to do it manualy!” Perizau said. ” Come on! Tivora take charge on the bridge !” Styles ordered.
Styles,shumar,trajaten,perizau and boyd left the bridge. The elivator were shut down so they had to use stairs. They made it to the area. They put on environmentle suits.
There was a gaping hole in the ship.  Air was pooring out. They all knew this was dangerous work even with the e.v.s suits. If they were sucked out into space they were vanerable to the storm. If they were struck it ment certain death.
  It had to be done. The team perpared to go out. The door had to be sealed. Manual release required at least four people opearating the manual release at once. This was risky.
What felt like wind blew though the deck. The e.v.a suit was working. They got to work.
Dr. Kelly had to treat more radiation sickness. There must be more cracks. The situation seamed to be getting worse. She hoped this could be turned around.
   The ship was hit again. This time on the other side. This time it was the hydroponics. Where the emergincy food suply was. They now had several problems on multiple fronts. The strugle was on.

The storm part 4

“Growing up in the mid west,i had my fair share of storms. What was worse then the actual storm was anticipation of the storms arival. You know its coming but there is nothing you can do about it. You are premptivly freaked out. As a child i always was. ”
“With this storm,we had time to prepare. It was anyone’s gues if it would work or not. Now after all the preperations now was the moment of truth. ”
“At this moment i felt powerless.a part of me wishes i was back on earth. I knew that someone had to pave the way for humanity to reach out for the stars. I Just hope we can make it back in one peace.”
The ion storm began to pass. The ship was hit. The crew could hear the sounds of the ions hit the x 1000. It sounded like a smal lazer hiting the ship.
The whole crew was on pins and neadles. They were just waiting with bated breath. No one was sure what they were waiting for. They were wating for relief or recovery. They knew this storm would be hear for a while. It would not be over in 15 minutes although every one hoped it would. ”
“So far shields are holding. I detect no crack in the shields !” Tivora said. “Keep on it!” Shumar ordered. “Will do!” Tivora said.
“Report any varience lt!” Shumar ordered. “You got it commander!” Tivora answered. The sound of the ship being pumaled could be heard. It was persistent. It was relentless. There was no stoping it.
Sickbay
Dr. Kelly ann renelds waited for any information on the storm. She suposed that no news is good news.  The carm before a worse storm. She was really woried. She heard some crewman talking about reterning to earth. She was not ready for that. She had an adventurous side but was not looking foward for this storm to be over. She stil could not believe she was hear. What a jouney it had been.
Flashback
   She was at a library. She was studying. A man droped a bunch of brief case and papers. She went over and helped him picked up the books and papers.
“I am a clutch as you can see!” The young men said. “I am too! Are you a student? “She said. “West point! “He said. “Sodjer?’ She asked. “I am in the space infantry program. I am traning to be a pilot. Everyone from uspha to comerce authority and several government wants me and private comercial space services as well! What are you studying ?”he asked. “I want to be a doctor . By the looks of it i will probably be seing you in the e.r!”she said. What s journey indeed.
Engineering
  So far every thing was holding together . Perizau wanted the engines   check and rechecked. So far the ship was holding together.
  Bridge
The ship was hit. “That was a big one!” Trajaten comented. Tivora checked the shields. “Shields are holding. The safe gaurds are working at least for far!” Tivora said. “Are they going to intensify then deintensify then back?” Bryce asked. “Yes it will! “Tivora reported.
The ship was hit. The shields stil held. It put a crew already on edge even more so. They were stil ok.
  The crew kept scaning the ship including infrastructure and structual intregrety.
  No one knew if it was going to work or not. They worked hard to keep the ship in one peace. It had only just started.
” i take it it is not going to get any easier is it?” Kelly w asked.”no it is going to get any easier. It is only going to get harder from hear!”styles said.

The storm part three

“Any non esential power was teansfered to shields. We have tried to reduce any thing non esential. This includes creture comforts. We will have to live off rations. ”
“I am a bit reluctant to make all of these drastic cuts but feel that we have no orther chioce. I know that this is taxing on morale but we seam to have no choice!”
Coridor
“These power transfer are not teribly popular ?” Captain styles asked. “No they are not! I have receved multiple complaints from officers and crewmen alike. “Bryce said.
“I figured. I liked to think this is unnescisary bryce but i don’t think it is! “Styles said.
“I don’t either corner. I am not sure how to prevent the natives  from getting restless ! ” Shumar said.
“I know. I hope the storm passes in an extremely timly fashon !” Styles said. “We all do !” Shumar said.
Bridge
“I predict that the storm will strike in three hours ,30 minutes,22 seconds !”tivora said. “Do you think the storm will hit presisly at that time!” Kelly w said. “Not presisly. It is an estimate. I believe it will be close to that ! I canot provide a precise to the second prediction lt!”she said.
“Of course not!”the helmsman said. “I do try to be as acurate as i can be!” Tivora said. “Of course !” He said.
“The countdown is on!” Styles said. “I just can’t wait to be on the other side!” Kelly w said.”we all feel that way kell! How are your family ?” Styles said. “A little frazled but we will be ok!” Kelly w said. “Children should not be on space ships!”the andorian said. The whole room staired at the andorian. Some gave him a bit of a dirty look. “It is just my opinion ! Hesh!” Steveren said.
Boyd was happy to get some shut eye. He went to ‘his’qurters,he saw a poster of the sanfransisco 49ers football team.it was tivora’s side. Was she a fan? Imposible he thought . One never knew. He hoped he could get some sleep before the storm touches down.
Steveren saw tivora. “What are you doing ? ” he asked. “What do you meen? ” she asked in a folow up question.
“Jason has a bit of a crush on you!” Steveren observed. ” I am aware of that!” She responded. “Why do you not try to discourege this?” The andorian asked.
“I do not wish to. ” she said. “Your being selfish?”he said. “Your acusing me of emotion?” She asked. ” humans and Vulcan are too different to have a meaningful friendship. I meen both individualy and politicaly. Look no vulcan romance with non Vulcan have been sucsessful. I know how this will end. You will try but you won’t be able to overcome your cultural diferences. Your just too different . I will be left to pick up the peces. I will have to console him. Please just walk away. ” Steveren implored her.
“Do you think so little of me mr. Steveren?” She asked. “Not you personaly. I sm quite found on you. It has little to do with you!”he said. “You just don’t like vulcan ?” She asked. ” it not a matter of like or dislike but i do understand your people . Perhaps more then you do. You conform acording to your nature. It is default.  You think you can date or mary boyd and stil adhere to the tenets of surek. The elders not even the elders at sanfransisco will alow the relationship . You risk becoming a periah. You won’t do that. I just want you to consider all of this !” He said. “I will be careful. ” She said. “I will be watching! Tread lighly!” The andorian said.
With that they seperated.
Marie could not believe the news.she was totally taken aback. She had long ago acepted that they would never have kids. They considered adopting but had not taken any serious move towards that end.
Flashback
Hospital paris
“It has been a year doctor. We just can’t seam to get pregnant !” Marie said. “Well i have done test after test. Your village was exposed to nuclear radiation during the third world war. While earth government and vulcan health ministry are working to cleen it up. There are stil after afect. I am afraid there is little i can do. I think the chances are you will never be able to reproduce!” The dr. Said.
Marie could not believe this. What would her husband’s reaction be? She was a bit concerned. The time would come.

“I gues this is the moment of truth! ” styles said. “I gues so!” Bryce said. “I keep wondering if we could have done more!” Kelly ane said. “It is never a good idea to play saterday or monday morning qurter back!” Bryce said. “I don’t understand !” Tragaten said. “Not important !”styles said.
The storm was heading there way. “Hear it comes!” Tivora said. Could they servived? It was not clear. They were about to find out.

Storm part two

” exploration of space is a daunting task. Just as daunting as it was for the explorers who left europe to explore the new world. The jouney by sea was bad enough. There was unexpected dangers including storms,and sickness. ”
“Deep space exploration is just as frought with danger. The 15th and 16th century exploers had an idea of potential dangers. We have no idea. We are way out of our league. Someone has to do it. Someone has to pave the way for future generations. Someone has to volunter to be the pioners ! I gues we are those pioners. ”
“I did not really expect a storm. I gues i should have. I was more concerned about threats from alien races. I never thought out bigest threat would be from the wreather!”
  “Lt. Tivora delivered the news with a dispasion. Any human would be frantic. I apreciated the stotism. I needed the facts right now. I needed a thourough explination of what we faced. She provided that. ”
“When lyman recomended her for the task i was reluctant. I had little experience with Vulcans. At this moment i am glad i agreed with lyman’s request. I see the wisdom in having a dispasionate vioce as head of science ! ”
“I decided to call a meating of the senior staff to my qurters for a brefing. The original specs of the ship called for a brefing room but we could not justify the creation of sutch a room that would only be used for a singular perpose! ”
Qurters of the captain
The captain was the only one who did not have a roomate.every one else even the first officer had a roomate. Even the c.o ‘s qurters was cramped. It was the way it had to be.
“We are too far away from any safe harbors at this point! We have no options !”tivora said.
“Will our shields hold? “Shumar asked. “I am not sure. I don’t know that they will commander!” Tivora said.
“I agree. We can enforce the shields but we are going to have to gut every non esential and some less esential systems . We are going to have to forgot some creture comforts and we will have to rough it. I meen rough it!” Perizau said.
“We can gut most of the com systems but we will need some kind of ship to ship!” Trajatin said.
” Can we servive realistically ?” Dr. Kelly asked. “Honestly i think it will be difficult. It will be doable . We have to be vigilant. This will be a long struggle to the finish with no asurence of victory until the very end!” Tivora said.
“Not a rousy picture ?” Lt. Kelly said. “I am perposely being grim lt. As bad as you might think it is,it is excedingly worse. I want you to see how serious this situation is. “Tivora said.
” Bryce i want you to personaly take charge of getting the shields to as maximum compaticity as you can. Pull out all the stops. Servival is the key! Jose,tivora i want you to consult. I am asking a lot. This is the test. ”
“I don’t know if space exploration is doible! This may be foolhardy! We are at a turning point. I have to think we can make it. I am not going to yield. I am not going to go away qietly. “Styles said.
He dismished the meating. Every one got up. They got right to work. They had a lot to do and not a lot of time to do it.
The first task was to reinforce the shields. The gyim was closed down. Life suport in the gym was deactivated. The area was sealed off.
Trajaten deactivated the long range com relay. The com was confined to ship to ship only.
Bridge
“I don’t like your facial expreson!” Jason said.”i need to shut down the weapons!”  Perizau said. ” We could be attacked. There may be races who have inpenitrible shields. We cannot shut down all weapons! Trajaten is deactivating the sansors! We won’t know about a hostile until we are hit ! Boyd said.
“We are in the middle of no where! “Perizu said. “Preditors strike in the middle of no where. Captain this is beyond a bad idea!  It is a recipe for disaster! “Boyd said.
” I understand but we have no choice lt. “The chief engineer said. “You won’t change your mind! “Jasson said. “No we have no chioce!”he said. “Fine i get it!”he said. “Look this is our first storm. It is a learning curve for us all!”perizu said.
Qurters of tivora
Steveren and boyd came in with bedding. “Look we need to double up. Can we stay with you and gina?”boyd asked.  ” come on in!”tivora said. 
Boyd had never seen her like this. Her hair was down in a simple pony tail not in a savere braid while she usually had it. She wore a tshirt swet paints and was barefoot.
“What?”she asked. “I have seen you in an informal seting! “Boyd said. ” Jason arnt you needed in engineering ?”the andorian asked.”no!”he said. “I think so! We will be back later!”. The andorian said. Steveren draged him.
“What are you doing?”he asked.”i knew this was a mistake!”steveren said.”you could pick a different room! ” jason said. “Oh no! Someone needs to keep an eye on you until you come to your sencess! “He said. ” You going to folow me around like a pupy dog?”he said. “Only when your around her!”he said. “Great!” He thought.
“Hey jace! “She said. “Yea!”he said. “I have the top bunk! You want it?”she asked. “No we boyds can sleep any where and have! “He said. “Are you sure?”she asked . He said yes. They moved on.
“I think she likes me. Well you know !”jason said. “Jason no off worlder has sucesully been maried to a vulcan sense the reformation by surek. It is not possible !”he said. “Look as i said,right i just want to be her friend !” Jason said. “It is the later that wories me!” He said.
Sick bay
  ” i checked and rechecked. You are in perfect health ! ” dr. Kelly said. “Then what is going on. Why have i been sick this whole week?”marie asked. ” Your pregnant !” She said. “That can’t be. I can’t have children !”she said. “You can see for yourself !”she showered her a scan of her belly. A baby could be sean. “Is the baby ok? “She asked. “Every thing looks fine! ” dr. Kelly said.

Episode two “storm”

“Personal journal ,captain corner styles. Sense the x 1000 is under the supervison of 26 different entities,they all want to know the goings on of humanities flagship as it were. ”
“To accomplish this i will be seting up the captain’s log. Like the log of maywrather lewis and wiliam clark ,myne too may be highly valuable as it details the new fronteer. ”
“I decided to write a personal log first. Basically a mental dump.later on i will weed out the nom esential and have just the facts. hear i can include anything and every thing i want to coment on.  ”
” Where to begin. So we ventured out outside the confines of known space. We really had no clue of what we were doing. It kinda got us into trouble !”styles said.
“I think the jouney is hardest for chief enginer perizau. Perizau had left the life in space and in a military style atmosphere alone a long time agi. Unlike many of us,he was not an idelest or a space enthusiest. To him this was just a job. One more or less imposed on him. ”
“I am not feeling well!”his wife marie said. “You ok? You have been sick all week? “He asked.
“It might just be my body ajusting to space. I am sure it is nothing ! “She said. “You may want to see kelly if it does not get any better! Kelly the doctor not the helmsman!”she said.
“You enjoy teling that joke don’t you?”she asked. “A little bit!”he said. “I figured!”she said. “You really should check it out though!” He said. “I will!”she asured him.
Mess hall
Lt. Jasson boyd entered the mess hall. He went over to the table where tivora was siting. “May i join you?”he asked. “Of course please !”tivora said. He sat down.
“How are you?”he asked. “Fine. Buisy.”she said. “I know the feeling. Luckily sence the battle with the romulons,things have qiet on the defense frount! That stil has not stoped me from trying to perfect them!”he said.
“You take your job as ships protector quite seriously ?”she asked. “I do. It is a solum duty. If the shields are off by a micron?that could be it!”he answered.
“Don’t let your fears over take you! At a critical time you will come though!”she said. “I wish i was as sure! “He said. ” Never wory about something that has not happened out!”she said. “Easy for you to say!”he said. “It is a little like the pot calling the cattle black!”she said. “A little !”he said.
“Am i interupting i hope!”steveren said as he sat down. Jason thought to himself “go away!”but decided that that could cause the great human-andorian war and decided against it. She started a conversation with him. She was very diplomatic. She was making an efort to smoth things over with him. He was all for peaceful coexistence between races just not at the moment.
“Ensign gell to lt. Tivora!”he said.”go ahead ! ” she said. “I need you on the bridge! Its urgent!”he said. “I am on my way! ” she said. “i’l see you later jason. Good day steveren!”she said. Then she walked on.
“What are you doing?”he asked. “Look i got to keep an eye on you too!”he answered. “That’s really not necessary !”jason said.”look you can’t down the road your considering going down!”the andorian said. “Look we are just friends! “He said. “Your not interested in being more then just friends ?” Steveren said.
“We just met! Someday yea i think so. There is time for all that to sort itself out in due time! “He said.
“It won’t work out. Your cultures are too different. You will both fight for your culture to win out. Your going down a road that will lead to nothing but heartache. Look i don’t mean to be disrespectful to tivora. Despite the political disagrements between our our two worlds,i have a great deal of respect for her but some cultures are incompatible!”steveren said.
  ” I have not made any decision . It is just a thought. One that has not yet miterialized.”he said. “Believe me it is one that you don’t want to fully explore! “He said. “I will make my own decision. I am not a child! I am a  sr. Officer!”he said. “Suit yourself . Don’t come crying to me when she breaks your heart and she will!”the andorian said.
Bridge
“Yes ensign!”tivora said. “I am detecting an ion storm. It is heading straght for us. I don’t think we can outrun it!”gell said. “I see!”Tivora said. Tivora looked over the datta. She could not help but concer with ensign kaneth gell’s findings.
“If my calculation are corect,we may not be able to arive at a safe harbor in time!”ensign gell said. “I will look over your data but given what i have seen,i believe you are probably correct!”she said. ” You will inform the captain?” Ensign gell asked. “Right away! ” she said.
Mess ward.
“There is plenty of eligible females abored the ship! Ensign makenze,ensign rosi, crewman carpinter!” He said. “It does not work that way! ” of course not!” The andorian said.
“All sr officers to the brefing room!” A bridge officer said. ” Dutty calls!”boyd said. “It would apear so!” The andorian said. Boyd got up to leave.  He would head to the meating.

“To the outor rim and beyond part 14

  Commander sherad was nervous. He acepted that he would not survive this battle. He was fine with that. If he had to go out he wanted to strike a hard blow to his enemy at the same time. He feard that he might fail. His death might be in veign. He wanted some kind of victory. He would have it. One way or another.
The posioning of vega would be aceptible. It would be the rallying cry on both sides. To the humans a kind of remember vega mantra. The romulons would use it for propinganda perpouses as a building point. He might be awarded by the preator postumously mayby even by the emparor. He would not be there to witness it but oh well.
X 1000
Bridge
“They are atempting to hide there signiture by using sansor ghost,distortion and even venting plasma. I believe i have them!” Tivora said.
“Stay on them kell !”styles said. “Aye sir! “He said. The x tried to catch up with the hostile.
The hostile deverted every ounce of power to speed for the ship. The weapon would be turned into one gigentic dirty bomb.
  The x commander would not pull out all the stops such as what serad did. They would do what had to be done within reason. 
Vega colony
“We are about to be attacked! I want every ship in the sky. We are on full alert!”governor ronald egder said. “Orions? Nusicans! ” the aid asked . “No romulons!”he said. “Who?” The aid said.
  The x found the ship and fired. The vessel was hit. “We bearly scrached the paint!” Boyd reported.
The romulon ship reterned fire on the x. The x was hit. “Shields holding!” Tivora reported. The ship deployed canisters. The canasters hit the ship. The x fired a lazer burst.
“Target that explosion and fire!”styles ordered. The ship hit the explosions. One of the nichelle was hit. There was exstensive damage all over the ship.
  The ship fired every last torpedo it had. The x tried to dodge them. They dodged most of them but the ship was hit. Several decks had been sealed off.
The x fired again. The lazer hit the agresive ship. The ship was hit. The bridge exploded. Serad had survived.
Serad knew that his time was already pass. He was going out with a bag. He sat the ship on auto pilot. He riged the ship on a colision course. The ship headed for the x.
The x pulled up. The x fired and ran though the wake. They plowed though. The ship was determined to servive. This could not be the end.
The x came out like a pheonix from the ashes. The ship was batered and bloody but intact. It came though on to the other side.
“We are at all stop!” Kelly w said.”hold position ! I want a full damage asestment!”styles said.
The x repared itself enough to return to earth. Then the exstensive repairs begun.
Earth

“I believe the time has come to venture beyond the confines of our home space. I believe the time is right to venture into the unknown! “Lyman eller said.
“How can you say that? Space is a dangerous place. As evidenced by what just occured. The evidence indicates we should go inward! Build at home?” Deligate fernando juan qunard asked.
“Yes space is dangerous. It is wondrous as well. We have already started this jouney. We should play it though!” Eller saud.
“Mayby we should wait! Lick our wounds. Perhaps this is not the time!”Evelyn journot said.
“Mr. Secratary general ! May i be heard?”captain styles asked.”yes you may!”secritary general gerrad mfume said.
“Thank you mr. Secritary general ! Humanity is at a crossroads. We canot turn inwards. Our future is amoung the stars. Humanity has an uncrenchible thurst for knowledge. We have an opotunity to gain more knowledge . Risk comes with any quest. Just as it did when eropian setilers came to the new world. I believe this is our destiny. We have already made enimies but we have made friends . Who knows todays enemies may be tomorrows friends . We just don’t know. I believe that the road will be hard but worth it. A hundred years from now this will be remembered as a turning point. What will it be? Witch path will you chose ?”styles asked.
Home of perizau
“I asume you heard the news?”styles asked. “Earth has agried to begin long term exploration of space under the auspicious of the united earth space probe agency! The h.e has signed on. ” Perizau said.
“I know this is not your cup of tea jose. The hagomony wants a sr representive on the flagship. Now a future ship will have a eropian commander until then they will setle for a member if the iner circle. I would like that to be you! You can bring marie. “He said.
” Its not me corner! I am not an explorer. I like farming. I am content hear. I have already made history ! I have no need to do it again !”he said.
” I need you! Give the name of another enginer as qalified as you to be chief enginer. History choses you not vice versa!”he said. “Corner that us really lame!”he said. ” I know ! I’m desprit!”he said.
“What would my rank be?”he as.”you were a colnel in the eropian forces. We are using naval ranks. Full commander!”he said. “Oh no! I want to be captain of engineering ! “He said.”captain! You would outrank bryce! “He said.”that is my condition!”perizai said. “I will have to clear it w the director but ok. Will you acept?”he said.”alright !”he said.

“I want in?”steveren said. “I am suprised. You don’t strike me as someone who stays in one place for very long!”styles said.
“You are starting something. This is living history and i want to be a part of it! I predict this will go beyond humanity. Mayby not now but some day. I promise i wil behave and try to be civil around tivora. “The andorian said. ” This might be a hard sell but your right. I do need a guide and advisor. Pending aproval by my superiors welcome to the team!”he said. He schock his hand. “Welcome to the future!”steverin said.

“Now clear of dry dock. We are free to nevigate!”kelly w exclamed. ” Set course ! To the outor rim and beyond !”
